When Can You Tan After Waxing

The Holy Father hopes that the country's new constitution is inspired by Christian values

translation of the Pope's speech to the Ambassador of Hungary.

Sir,
with joy I welcome you on this solemn occasion of the presentation of the Letters of Credence accrediting you as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Hungary to the Holy See, and I thank you for your kind words. I am grateful for the respectful greetings which you submitted on behalf of the President Dr. Pál Schmitt and the government, and I gladly reciprocate. At the same time I would ask you to ensure your compatriots of my affection and my sincere goodwill.

Following the resumption of diplomatic relations between the Holy See and the Republic of Hungary in 1990, it was possible to develop new confidence for active and constructive dialogue with the Catholic Church. I have both the hope that the deep wounds of the materialistic view of man, which had seized the hearts of the community and citizens of your country for almost 45 years, can continue to heal in a climate of peace, freedom and respect for human dignity.

The Catholic faith is undoubtedly part of the basic pillars of Hungarian history. When, in the distant year 1000, the young Hungarian prince Stefano received the royal crown sent to him by Pope Sylvester II, joined what was the mandate to give to faith in Jesus Christ and home space in the land. Personal piety, the sense of justice and the human virtues of this great king is a high benchmark that serves as a stimulus and imperative, now as then, what is entrusted with the role of government or similar responsibilities. Certainly not expected by the state that the imposition of a particular religion, rather it should guarantee the freedom to profess and practice their faith. However, Christian faith and politics meet. Certainly faith has its specific nature as meeting with the living God who has opened new horizons beyond the sphere of reason. But it is also a purifying force for reason itself, allowing it to perform its job better and see better what is right.

All'inizio del prossimo years'll have to Hungary, for the first time, take over the Presidency of the EU Council. Hungary is especially called to be a mediator between East and West. Already the Holy Crown, the legacy of King Stephen, in connection with the circular corona graeca Latin crown post arc above it - both bearing the face of Christ and are crowned by the cross - shows how East and West should be mutually supportive and enriching each other from the spiritual and cultural heritage and the profession of faith alive. We can understand this as a motto for your country.

The Holy See takes note with interest the efforts of the authorities policies to develop a change in the Constitution. He expressed his intention to refer in its preamble to the legacy of Christianity. It is also desirable that the new constitution is inspired by Christian values, especially as regards the position of marriage and the family in society and the protection of life.

Marriage and family are a crucial foundation for the healthy development of civil society, countries and peoples. Marriage as a basic form of ordering the relationship between man and woman and at the same time as cell founding the national community also shape came from the biblical faith.

The Church can not approve legislative initiatives involving the enhancement of alternative models of married life and family. They contribute to the weakening of the principles of natural law and so the relativization of all legislation and awareness of values in society.

"The increasingly globalized society makes us neighbors, but does not make us brothers" (Encyclical "Caritas in veritate , 19). The reason is able to ensure equality between men and establish a civic coexistence, ma non riesce, alla fin fine, a fondare la fraternità. Essa apre l'uomo all'altruismo, al senso civico, all'attenzione verso l'altro.

La Chiesa Cattolica, come le altre comunità religious, has a not insignificant role in Hungarian society. It undertakes large-scale with its institutions in the field of education and culture, and social assistance, and thereby helps to build morale, very useful to his country. The Church hopes to continue with the support of the state, to perform and enhance this service for the good of mankind and the development of your country. The collaboration between the State and the Catholic Church in this field will grow in the future and bring benefits for all.

Illustrious Excellency, the beginning of your noble task I wish you a full mission success, and assure at the same time support e l'appoggio dei miei collaboratori.
